Pictured 2nd from the left is John Persson and other flight crew members at Sangley Pt. get-together.
Pictured 3rd from the left is the Sangley Point P.I. Sheraton, enlisted quarters. This replaced the

Pictured 2nd. from the left is TE-1 coming in after a flight with #2 engine broke. This was fairly normal for
us to take off with 4 engines and come back with 3 engines running. The prop governor wires would break or
short out. I spent a lot of time building prop governor pigtails. There is a good story there too.
Pictured 3rd. from the left is TE-1 being cleaned up and ready to fly again. March 1967
Pictured 4th. from the left is TE-5 with an F-4 behind it, and an A-4 taking off. March 1967 at Chu-Lai.

4th. picture from the left: We had just taken off from Sangley Point, PI.
Just before we were to rotate and lift our nose, we lost power in two engines,
too late to stop.
We eased into the air then made a large loop around Manila bay, dumping fuel to get
light enough to land. My weather observer window was a perfect location to
view the dumping so I grabbed the camera and snapped this photo.
