Cecil E. Peters age 87 of Joplin, Mo. passed away Thursday May 10, 2012 at Freeman West Hospital following an illness. Cecil was born November 6, 1924 in Pekin, Il. to William C. and Bertha (Gilmore) Peters.
Cecil retired as Chief Flight Engineer after 22 years in the US Navy. He then worked at American Fixture, Eagle Picher and Murray Guard. He was member of the Fleet Reserve Association Unit #315 where he served as secretary.
Cecil married Anita Nadine Peters on April 8, 1947 in Ft. Smith, Virginia. He preceded her in death on March 23, 2011.
Survivior include two daughters, Elizabeth Naumann of North Richland Hills, Tx., Carol Slone of Duenweg, Mo.; one brother Carl Peter of Pekin, Il,; one sister , Lavina Swonger of Pekin, Il.; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daugher, Susan Peters February 9, 1965 and three sisters.
