- VW-1 flightline.
Most Jr. enlisted will remember spending nights walking up and down the VW-1 flight-line as the "Line Watch".
Most were really happy when they became "Petty Officer of the Watch" and didn't have to be pounding the
tarmac.

Typhoon Mary as seen on EC-121 camera scope. The 50 nautical mile range markers (rings) show that the aircraft
is approximately 100 miles SSE of the eye, the aircraft is heading about 225 deg (bright flash) from North (top
of scope). VW-1 reported surface winds of 90kts during this fix. About 36 hours after this photo was taken
typhoon Mary passed over the northern portion of Taiwan, one day later it dissipated as it crossed the Chinese
main land.
