- VW-1 Squadron sign. This sign was on Central Avenue at the entry road to the squadron office area which
were in dozen or so quonset huts that were on either side of this road. This entry road was also where morning
quarters were held as shown in another photo on this page. The squadron moved to the hanger across the runway
on May 26 1967 as stated in the Command History, see November 16, 2007 entry on the Reader Comments page. VW-1
had moved from Barber's Point Hawaii in July of 1957

- VW-1 Morning Quarters about 1961. Looking East down road in squadron office area.
If you look closely at the enlarged picture you can see Bruno the mascot at parade rest.
Those who rode the bus or "cattle car" to and from the squadron area over to the barracks and mess hall may
also remember Bruno riding the bus, then standing outside the chow hall for his ration of food, then re
boarding the bus or cattle car to return to the squadron area or other parts of NAS Agana.
Bruno died a year or two after this picture was taken and another dog, some say it was one of Bruno's
offspring, taking over were Bruno left off. I believe he was named Willy Victor.
