- Some of us on Crew 2 had discovered that there were a whole lot of tours available at the Manila Hotel
(near the American Embassy) in Manila. The pictures on this page are some that we took on these tours

- Pictured 1st. from the left: Taal Lake is a freshwater lake in the province of Batangas, on the island of
Luzon, Philippines. The lake is situated within a caldera formed by very large eruptions between 500,000 and

Pictured 2nd. from the left: The Taal Lake/Volcano was a tour from the Manila Hotel and was at least an hour or
more drive south of Manila.

The Cemetery is 220 acres of immaculately manicured grounds, there are 17,207 white marble crosses or stars of
David for those buried there. I was so impressed in 1963 that I went back 2 more times during tours while
assigned to VQ-1 It was equally as impressive during each visit!
