Lloyd J. Turner, Jr. age 74 of Kingston passed away Saturday January 2, 2016 at his home. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kingston since 1980. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, and served as Commander of the Roane County Military Memorial Honor Guard for 9 years, a current member of the American Legion Post 50 in Rockwood where he served as Past Adjutant and Past Commander. Also a member of the Masonic Lodge; Order of the Eastern Star and Kerbela Shriners. Preceded in death by parents Lloyd, Sr. and Helen Turner.
Survivors include:
Wife of 47 years Barbara Sue Turner of Kingston;
Daughter and son in law Michelle and Chris Everett of Knoxville;
Son Mark Turner of Kingston;
Sister and brother in law Connie and Roy Huckaby of Rutledge;
Nephews Jimmy and Stanley Carpenter of Morristown;

Funeral 7:30pm Monday January 4, 2016 in the Kyker Chapel with Rev. Jody McLoud officiating. Burial 11am Tuesday at Hamblen Memory Gardens. Military Honors conducted by the Roane County Military Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 5:30pm until 7:30pm Monday at the Kyker Funeral Home in Kingston.
