Albert Charles Jeanguenat ALC/LCDR USN Ret

Albert Charles Jeanguenat, LCDR, Ret. USN, passed away due to a prolonged battle with Chronic Lymphocetic Leukemia at the age of 87. He was currently residing in Pahrump, NV, where he had lived for three months after moving from his home in Lakeside, CA.
On the day of his passing, the country lost a war hero, a daughter lost her father, two grandchildren lost a grandfather and four great-grandchildren lost a great-grandfather - but Ida Jeanguenat, his late wife of 64 years, and the love of his life, who passed in 2006, regained her husband for eternity.
During Al's distinguished military career, he received more than 35 decorations, including the Distinguished Flying Cross with two stars and the Air Medal with ten stars. Al saw forward area duty during the Korean War as a Tactical Systems Operator in the Navy's version of the B-24 Liberator (PB4Y-PB4Y2)..
After his 30 years of active duty service in the Navy, Al became Ground Electronics Directory at NAS Miramar, retiring in 1994 with over 54 years of total service to his county. In addition, during his roughly 60 years in San Diego, Al earned a top spot with the San Diego Blood Bank with over 23 gallons donated.
Al's spirit, positive attitude and generosity will be missed not only by his immediate family, but also by his large and extended family of friends and Navy colleagues whose lives he touched. Al is survived by his daughter, Patricia McDowell of Pahrump, NV, grandchildren James Gordon of El Dorado Hills, CA and Dawn Jeanguenat of Maryland, and four great-grandchildren.
Viewing at the El Cajon Mortuary, 684 S. Mollison, El Cajon, CA, will be January 27th, 2011, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Graveside service will be on January 28th, 2011 at the El Cajon Cemetery located at 2080 Dehesa Road, El Cajon, CA, at 10:00 a.m.
