Richard A. Paskvan "Dick" Age 74, (died) suddenly, Monday, February, 2010 at his late residence. Born and raised in Chicago, he was a long time Joliet area resident. A U.S. Navy veteran. Retired as a Sergeant with the Joliet Police Department after over 24 years of service. Following his retirement, he served Will County as a Deputy Coroner and also the City of Joliet Mayor's Office as a Deputy Liquor Commissioner. Member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #58, the Moran A.C., the Croatian Club, the Joliet Moose Lodge #300 and the American Legion Post #1080.

Preceded in death by his wife, Mariann Paskvan (2000); two sons in infancy, David and Stephen Paskvan; his parents Jack and Bessie (nee Cuzzela) Paskvan; his father-in-law, Louis M. and mother-in-law. Vera (nee Janezic) Gale (Feb. 19, 2010). Survived by his daughter, Michelle M. Paskvan; his son, Mark (Debbie) Paskvan; two grandchildren, Janna and David Paskvan; one brother, Jake (Barb) Paskvan all of Joliet; nieces, nephews cousins, and his faithful canine companion, Misty, also survive.

Funeral Services for Richard A. Paskvan will be Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Graveside interment with honors conducted under the auspices of the Joliet Police Department at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
