Joe passed away on October 30, 2013 from complication of leukemia. A long time resident of Upland, California he was born on June 13, 1937 in East Liverpool, Ohio and grew up in Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late Michael and Gina Vilsack. He was married and had two sons, Michael and Donald. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary Ann; his granddaughter, Kim and great grandsons Ryan and Tyler. He is also survived by his son Donald and his wife Sidney, and their three children Brittany, Erin and Donald Jr.

Joe served in the U.S. Navy until 1969 then relocated to California and worked mostly in sales and customer service. When he passed, he was an active member of Pilgrim Congressional Church, Civil Air Patrol and the VW-1 All Hands Alumni Association. He will be fondly remembered for his love of family, cooking, travel and flying.

Visitation will be held at Todd Memorial Chapel in Pomona on Thursday November 7, between the hours of 4 and 8p.m. Services will be held November 8, at Pilgrim Congressional Church in Pomona at 3p.m. Memorial donations can be made to Pilgrim Congressional Church, the Leukemia Society of America or the American Diabetes Association.
