The Royal Gorge Route Railroad offered the reunion attendees the best experience of the Royal Gorge on a breathtaking, 2-hour scenic and historic train ride on the most famous portion of the former Denver & Rio Grande Western train line. All passengers had access to one of the open-air observation cars for the best views of the Royal Gorge.

The first picture on the left shows the sign on the suspension bridge across the Royal Gorge.

The 2nd. picture looking over the edge of the suspension bridge, the railway tracks can be seen running along the river.

Sandra Lange, Mary Ann Vilsack and Darlene Lyon make their way across the suspension bridge.

The incline railway descends 1500 ft. at a 45° angle to the canyon floor. This railway takes the visitors to and from the canyon rim to the bottom to catch the train.

The 1st. 3 pictures show passengers on the open-air observation cars taking in the sights.

The 4th. picture, is of the the Hanging Bridge. At one spot in the gorge the shear rock cliffs are so high and the canyon so narrow that even a tiny ledge could not be cut into the rock. The designers were forced to hang the tracks from beams spanning the canyon.

Another view that shows the suspension parts of the Hanging Bridge.

Looking up at the highest suspension bridge in the world as seen from the open-air observation car.

Floyd Orsini getting ready to board the world's longest single-span Aerial Tram that glides more 1,100 feet above the canyon floor.

One of the many spectacular views from the aerial tram.
