2008 Auction

During most of the reunions a "white elephant" auction is held. Attendees bring an item to be auctioned off, the proceeds become a part of the VW-1 All Hands Alumni Association treasury. The most sought after items seem to be those with a VW-1, Navy or Guam connection.

These pictures show some of the items to be auctioned, which included coffee mugs, model of TE-00, 6 pack of San Miguel. It even included a white hat.

The first picture on the left show more of the items on the auction block.

The 2nd picture, Sally Metzger seems to be saying I'm getting this no matter what it the bidding gets to. Latter during the bidding process a comment was heard that this hat gave men magical powers in the evening hours.

The 3rd and 4th pictures, shows several members examining the items to be auctioned.

The first 3 pictures on the left: show most of the tables in the room just prior to the auction.
